Course title: Orientation Training on Assessment in Health Psychology

Course Description
This orientation training is designed to introduce participants to assessment practices in Health Psychology. The program focuses on understanding psychological assessment of health, illness perception, stress, well-being, and quality of life using non-clinical tools. Emphasis is placed on ethical assessment, interpretation, and research-oriented use of health psychology measures.

Registration: Non refundable. Registration fee Rs.12000.For RPRIT registered students and IAHP registered students (Rs.11500). It is non-refundable. All fees include 18% GST. Installment scheme: 60%-20%-20% ratio.

Module 1: Introduction to health Psychology 
1.1 Definition,Scope and differences from Clinical Psychology.
1.2 Theories of health Psychology - Biopsychosocial model, Health Belief Model, Stress and Coping theory, Health efficacy model, Theory of Planned Behaviour, Postulates of Rabindrik Psychotherapy.
1.3 Applications of Health Psychology - Psychological understanding of Diabetes, CKD, Cancer, and cardiovascular diseases
Enhancing treatment adherence and self-management, Improving quality of life and psychological adjustment to illness.

Module 2: Psychological Tools for Assessment 
2.1.WHO Quality of Life Scales.
2.2 Life event scale. 
2.3 State and Trait inventory. 
2.4 Layers of Consciousness.

Module 3: Research Methods in Health psychology 
3.1 Quantitative research methods- Survey research,Correlational studies,Cross-sectional studies, Longitudinal studies, 
Experimental and quasi-experimental designs.

3.2 Qualitative research methods- 
Observation, Checklist, Grounded theory, Phenomenological approach, Case study, 
In-depth interviews,Semi-structured and unstructured interviews,
Focus group discussions
Narrative and illness story methods

3.3 Mixed-method research
Sequential explanatory designs
Sequential exploratory designs
Concurrent mixed-method designs
Integration of qualitative and quantitative findings.

Module 4: Statistical foundation 
4.1 Scales of Measurement.
4.2 Central tendency and variability. 
4.3 Mean difference Statistics. 
4.4 Correlation.
4.5 Non- Parametric statistics.

Module 5: Data based Interventions 
5.1 Cognitive behavior Therapy.
5.2 Mindfulness meditation. 
5.3 Progressive muscular relaxation. 
5.4 Yoga Therapy. 
5.5 Music assisted relaxation. 
5.6 Drawing Therapy. 
5.7.Rabindrik Psychotherapy.
