2 Months Online Training on Social Science Data Analysis for Policy Research with Base R script

About the trust:  It is a higher learning virtual research institute aiming at educating students about research for the welfare of the larger community through online and blended education. International students are welcome here. The trust regularly inviting applications for various courses. Both Internal and External Faculties are teaching here. The trust has more than 500 students.

Course Objective: The objective of this training is to help students analyze this dataset to understand the relationships between teacher training, school infrastructure, financial allocation, and educational performance. 

 Syllabus includes:

Data handling, visualization, and descriptive statistics 
Hypothesis testing including t-tests, Chi-square, and ANOVA 
Regression analysis and correlation methods 
Hands-on project and structured report writing on Policy Research

Week 1: Introduction to R

R environment, data types, vectors, matrices, data frames
Importing & exporting data
Week 2: Descriptive Statistics & Visualization

Measures of central tendency (mean, median, SD)
Frequency tables, histograms, bar plots, boxplots
Week 3: Hypothesis Testing & Correlation

Manual calculations for t-tests, z-tests
Pearson’s correlation
Week 4: Inferential Statistics

Chi-square tests, ANOVA, simple regression (without external packages)
Month 2: Report Writing & Advanced Analysis
Week 5: Introduction to the psych Package

Summary statistics, data exploration, reliability analysis
Week 6: Advanced Data Analysis

Factor analysis, visualization, interpretation of statistical outputs
Week 7: Research Report Structuring

Interpreting results, writing conclusions
Week 8: Student Presentations & Final Evaluations

Presentation of analysis, discussion & feedback

Description of the Educational Dataset
The dataset includes key factors influencing educational performance and governance.

Teacher-Related Variables: Teacher ID, Qualification Level, Training Hours Completed, Training Needs Score.
School Characteristics: School ID, Region (Urban/Rural), Digital Classrooms Available, Infrastructure Score.
Financial Aspects: Annual Budget, Funds Allocated for Training, Funds Allocated for Infrastructure.
Stakeholder Engagement: Stakeholder ID, Stakeholder Type (Teacher/Admin), Resistance Score, Concerns Expressed.
Governance & Pedagogy: Governance Score, Pedagogy Score, Performance Indicators.
This dataset provides a comprehensive view of educational dynamics, supporting data-driven insights for analysis.



Qualification and Eligibility: Post Graduates in Social Sciences and in Psychology. Basic knowledge about Statistics. 

Duration: 2months Registration Fees is non-refundable: Rs.3k and Rs.3.5k after 27th March. Instalment scheme is available (60% , 40%).

Day and Timings: 9 to 10 PM online on Thursday and Saturday through Zoom 
Certificate: Participation certificate will be provided after course completion. 
Pedagogy: RPRIT will provide data to give hands on experience in real educational data using only base R functions. Lecture through zoom, study material, dealing with real life problems, Google classroom, WhatsApp group. Resource persons will be external and internal faculties.
