Psychotherapy-to-Theory Development Model
A clearer formulation is:
Psychotherapy → Construct Extraction → Questionnaire Construction → Reliability & Validity Testing → Empirical Findings → Theory Development → Psychotherapeutic Application
Model
“Psychotherapy-to-Theory Development Model”
The logic is:
1. Psychotherapy
Observe therapeutic processes, psychological changes, recurring experiences and patterns.
2. Construct Extraction
Identify theoretically meaningful psychological constructs from those observations.
3. Questionnaire Construction
Operationalize the constructs into measurable dimensions/items.
4. Reliability and Validity Testing
Examine whether the instrument consistently measures the intended constructs and whether the proposed construct structure is empirically supported.
5. Empirical Findings
Study relationships among constructs, group differences, predictive patterns and applications.
6. Theory Development
Integrate the empirical findings with the original therapeutic concepts to formulate, refine or extend the psychological theory.
7. Psychotherapeutic Application
Use the refined theory to guide assessment, intervention and further observation.
The important point is that the process is not strictly linear. After reliability/validity testing, unexpected findings may require to go back and modify the constructs or questionnaire. Similarly, theory development can generate new constructs and new questionnaires.

This is particularly appropriate for Rabindrik Psychotherapy work because we are attempting to move from philosophical/therapeutic concepts such as Murta–Raag–Saraswat toward operational constructs, psychometric instruments, empirical evidence and finally a more formal psychological theory.
