3. What is Rabindrik story therapy? 

Rabindrik story therapy is a form of Psychotherapy that seeks to help patients identify their needs, values and the skills to live happily and effectively so that they can confront with current and future problems. The story composition, communicating story and evaluation processes will be made by the postulates of Rabindrik Psychotherapy. 

Syllabus-

Paper One: Introduction ,Scope and Applications of Story Therapy (Marks : 20)

• Scope of Story telling in educational and clinical settings. 

• Story telling effect on brain. 

• Story telling and changes in Murta, Raag and Saraswat layers of consciousness 

• Approach of Rabindrik Story Therapy. 

Paper Two: Story characteristics and story telling (Marks : 20) 

• Aesop fables 

• Story characteristics 

• Types of story 

• Ability to tell Aesop fables (The crow and the pitcher, The lion and Mouse, The hare and Tortoise). 

• Ability to tell Short stories of Rabindranath Tagore (Postmaster”, “Bolai” and “Chuti) 

Paper Three: Theory of Conflict Management (Marks : 20) 

• Theory of frustration 

• Types of conflict 

• Cognitive distortion 

• Cognitive distortion and conflict. 

• Cognitive structuring 

Paper Four: Story based Counselling and Psychotherapy (Marks : 20) 

• Basic concept of Counselling and Psychotherapy

1. Background


1.1 Definition of Rabindrik Psychotherapy: Rabindrik Psychotherapy is real time , object oriented, evidence based psychotherapeutic intervention to maintain equilibrium in the consciousness layers – the Murta, Raag and Saraswat. Murta is the seat of filtering sensation, perception. The Raag is seat of emotions, it offers colors on the object to know it’s reliability and finally Saraswat is the seat of harmony.


1.2 Role of therapist: The therapeutic intervention mostly covers different performing arts – dance, drama, music, painting, story, sculpturing etc. The therapist improvises the environment in which individual performs following Rabindra Sangeet and experiences positive emotions. By Rabindrik Psychotherapy, Individual him or herself is able to make cognitive structuring and restructuring personal notions. The harmony of Rabindrasangeet and dance provides therapeutic values. 


1.3  Music Therapy and Rabindra  Sangeet:  Music therapy [MT) clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a  professional who has completed an approved music therapy program.



2.      Rabindrik Psychotherapy Research Institute Trust


2.1  Establishment : Rabindrik Psychotherapy Research Institute Trust was  established on 1st July, 2018. The Trust is Educational by nature and to carry out research in Academic field and to promote the study and dissemination of knowledge of Rabindrik Psychotherapy based on the works of Rabindranath  Tagore for the welfare of the community at large without discrimination of caste, creed etc. with objects and constitution are as hereinafter set forth. It is a non-profit Making trust, registered under Indian Trust Act, 1882. 


2.2  Courses : Currently this institute  has more than 100 certified students. This institute is engaged in dissemination of knowledge through academic courses, seminars and workshops. Students are trained here by internal and external faculties. This institute offers a set of skill development courses under project linked Academic assistants. Each course will be beneficial for school teachers, professional counselors, administration and the parents in general. The course is graded from theory, assessment, assignment and project. In each course students will get flavor of Rabindrik Psychotherapy Postulates. RPRIT has conducted more than 65 workshops and some of the workshops are based on Research Methodology, Data Analysis through R-Programming, School Psychology theory based workshop, Regression statistics on school psychology etc. In this institute, there are few ongoing skill development certification courses .Those are Story therapy, Drawing Therapy, Profile Matching based career counseling and Data Analysis through R-Programming.

3. Music Therapy : “Music therapy can be defined as the clinical and evidence-based use of

music and/or its elements by a qualified music therapist to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship with one client or a group. The aim of music therapy is to develop potentials and/or restore impaired functions of individuals so they can achieve better

intrapersonal and/or interpersonal integration, which may promote a better quality of life, through prevention, rehabilitation or treatment of specific problems” 

4.Topics 

 Paper 1 : Introduction: Nature and Types of Psychotherapy, Individual and group Psychotherapy  and Psychological Counselling Music therapy and other therapies, Applications, Therapeutics Ethics. By Shatarupa Chakroborty

Paper 2 : Music Improvisation, Guided Imagery, Music and Cognition, Music and emotion, Naba rasa, Musical Instrument, Music and Physiology, Music Improvisation, Metaphors in Rabindrasangeet. 

Paper 3   : Consciousness flow, Western flow Theories, Murta  ,raag ,and Saraswat layer of Consciousness, Flow Dynamics, Flow and Positive psychology. Dr.D.D.Dutta Roy

Paper 4: Rabindra Sangeet Practice, Practice of selected Rabindra sangeet,(5 songs)

5. Course contents and Faculties

Students will learn   therapeutic use of music (form of  rabindra sangeet) by using selected songs.

5.3     Modes of teaching: Online lecture online Demonstration and return demonstration  

5.4     Preliminaries:    Phone/ laptop/ Tab with good internet connection.

5.5     Faculties: Internal and Senior external faculties with experience in   Psychotherapy , Music Therapy and Rabindrasangeet..

6.      Course duration:  online class 2 class each week, Period :  3 menthes

 Total 24 classes, twice a week 1.30 hr. .

7.      Course fee: Rs. 2000 per month  per participant., total 3 months  It will be paid through online system.

7.1    Application: Online application using Google form

8.      Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated by internal and external experts as per rules.

9.      Certificate: performance based Course completion certificate will be provided to the students on behalf of Rabindrik Psychotherapy Research Institute Trust.
